Founded in 2023 with assistance from The Asia Foundation and the New Zealand Government, Comrider MTB Adventure (MTB Timor-Leste) is Timor-Leste's first, and only, dedicated mountain biking and cycling tour company.
We recognise that Timor-Leste has enormous potential for mountain biking and cycling. The nation has a huge variety of terrain and riding opportunities. From mountains, to beach rides, and long adventure routes, Timor-Leste could rival any global adventure biking destination.
But Timor-Leste is different from any other destination. We have our own culture, history, and land ownership models. We are building a trail network that fits our context.
Our company is 100% Timorese owned and operated, and we are fortunate enough to have the ongoing assistance of experienced riders and the international development community.
We're not about just riding, we're about building a sustainable and prosperous future for our people, and our young nation.
Our Trails
We engage communities before trail building, and work with them to rehabilitate old trails that service their communities. Some of our trails are hundreds of years old.
After community members are on board, we fund them to rehabilitate their trails. We then employ a number of dedicated MTB trail builders, sourced within our local riding community, and trained on how to build trails that are safe, engaging, and manage erosion - all whilst minimising any impact to the environment.
All our trails are built by hand, by locals, providing economic opportunities for rural people and the riding community of Timor-Leste. When you ride with us, you know that your money goes back into the communities involved, and benefits our nation.
